Historic home’s grand do-over C
Tours of the Denver Designer Show House kicked off Friday and continue through June 15. The grand remodeling of a 1927 Arts & Crafts home at 919 Vine St. is a benefit for Children’s Hospital. Tours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and June 14-16; tickets are $20 at the door or online.
Something baa-zarre in the high country
Estes Park is the place to be if you want to prowl through booth after booth of fiber-art supplies, watch sheep being judged, llamas being shown, dogs moving sheep or alpaca simply being adorable (if you’re lucky, they’ll hum). The event is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the fairgrounds at Stanley Park. It’s free, though parking is $5. More:
Laid-back street festival time
Old Town Arvada’s series of Second Saturday Street Festivals begin Saturday on the town’s Grandview Avenue, just east of Olde Wadsworth Boulevard, with music, wine and beer sales and outdoor shopping. The event is gated so that alcohol can be sold, but admission is free (best parking, the city says, is in the long-term lots near the Jefferson County Library and the Flour Mill.) Other dates: July 13, Aug. 10.
Accessorize that urban loft
Put this one on your calendar if you’ve just taken the home-owning plunge: June 15, the Urban Home Show takes over Skyline Park at the crossing of Arapahoe Avenue and the 16th Street Mall. Exhibitors and demos of gardening, remodeling, landscaping and décor products and ideas will fill the park from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
