Monday; Tuesday: The Boulder-area nonprofits are offering two six-week organic gardening sessions for seniors. Choose the Monday or Tuesday series. The Monday session is at the YMCA of Boulder Valley’s Arapahoe Center at 9 a.m. every Monday. The Tuesday session is at Growing Gardens in Boulder at 9 a.m. every Tuesday. The series focuses on the summer vegetable garden including organic gardening and pest control techniques, pollinators, water conservation and soil fertility. The Gardens on Spring Creek and the Food Bank for Larimer County is encouraging all home gardeners to “fight hunger from the ground up” and plant extra fruits, vegetables and herbs to donate to the hungry. Arvada Historical Society’s annual Garden Tour
June 22: The third annual self-guided tour features six Arvada gardens along with the Rose Roots Community Gardens, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. $15. Loveland Garden Tour & Art Show
June 22: The tour features seven “Gardens on Garfield,” 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. A sale of “art for the garden” is included along with a silent auction of paintings created by local and regional artists for outdoor living spaces. Tickets, available in advance at several Loveland and Fort Collins locations, are $15, children age 10 and under are free.
