DENVER—Denver police are hoping two billboards telling the public about a March hit-and-run that killed two young brothers will help them get tips to solve the case.

It’s the first time that Metro Denver Crime Stoppers is using billboards to ask the public for help with an unsolved case. The Denver Post reports Friday () that donations from anonymous donors paid for the billboards, which cost about $10,000.

The billboards show the picture of 8-year-old Zamay Khan and 6-year-old Azat Khan and their mother with the statement, “Someone knows who killed our sons.” The boys were crossing a street when they were struck by a car.

Crime Stoppers Vice President Larry Stevenson says the ads will also appear in 20 bus benches in Denver and Aurora.
