Getting your player ready...

When we decide to improve our game in tennis, we usually spend extra time practicing how to hit the ball with more speed, accuracy and consistency. But tennis is both a sending and receiving sport, which means that 50 percent of your time is spent preparing for the ball to be hit toward you. The most successful players are the ones who use these split seconds of preparation time most effectively — they are the best receivers of the ball. If you become a better receiver, you will be more able to anticipate what shot your opponent will hit, perceive the oncoming ball quickly and clearly, and then prepare your return in the best possible position on the court.
