DENVER—A man suspected of trying to kidnap a woman in Lakewood and stealing her car has been shot and killed in western Colorado.
The Denver Post reports ( ) the man, who hasn’t been identified, was fatally shot Wednesday on Interstate 70 near the Utah border.
Lakewood police spokesman Steve Davis says the man is suspected of trying to abduct a woman at the Colorado Mills mall Tuesday night and then fleeing in her pickup truck.
Grand Junction police spokeswoman Kate Porras says the man was spotted in that city and fled onto the interstate. A state trooper forced the vehicle off the road, where it was surrounded by officers. Porras says the man eventually got out of the truck and was shot when he pointed a weapon at the officers.
