ASPEN, Colo.—Pilots flying into Aspen’s airport will notice a cutback in staffing during the evening hours.
Beginning Thursday, the Federal Aviation Administration has reduced the operation hours for Sardy Field’s air-traffic-control tower by two hours. The tower will now be staffed from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Airport director Jim Elwood tells the Aspen Times () pilots approaching and departing during the hours the tower is closed will communicate with an air-traffic controller in Denver.
