Steady rain, rising water and mudslides raised concerns enough to prompt an evacuation in Larimer County Sunday evening.

Conditions in Redstone, Poudre and Rist canyons led to road closures, including parts of Stovepipe Road and Colorado 14, because of mudslides Sunday just before 7 p.m.

Forty-one homes were asked to evacuate along Falls Creek Drive, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Though the areas reopened within an hour after closing, space for evacuees is set up at the Poudre Park Community Center.

Mudslides have accompanied sustained rain burned 87,284 acres in the area last year.

Rain is expected to continue along the Front Range Monday, though amounts are expected to be light, forecasters said.
