Traffic and toll revenue is up on the E-470 toll road.

E-470 traffic rose 5.8 percent in the first six months of 2013 compared to the same period last year, E-470 officials said Monday.

That uptick helped boost toll revenues by 10.4 percent for the period.

Traffic, as measured in total toll transactions, improved to 27.3 million in 2013 from 25.8 million in 2012. That coupled with a toll increase starting Jan. 1 boosted toll revenues to $59.7 million from $54.1 million a year ago.

Actual toll transactions equaled 98 percent of E-470’s $27.8 million year-to-date transaction projection. Toll revenue for the period was 103.3 percent of the budgeted $57.8 million.

The road runs along the eastern perimeter of the Denver metropolitan area.
