The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for the eastern metro area until 10:30 p.m.

The warning includes western Arapahoe County, north-central Douglas County and south-central Denver County. The warning includes Centennial, Highlands Ranch, northeastern Littleton and Eastern Denver.

The storms were spotty but were very intense in some areas. Up two 2 inches of rain has fallen Thursday evening, mostly along I-225 between Interstate 70 and Interstate 25.

Street flooding was reported and the intersection on East Alameda Avenue and Havana Street was blocked by high water. Cars were partially submerged under an underpass near Alameda and Lima and Mississippi Avenue was also closed in spots.

Earlier, a flash flood warning was issued for southwestern Boulder County until 8:30 p.m.

The warning is for the Eldora area, where 2.5 inches of rain was reported by 5:30 p.m.

The warning included Middle Boulder Creek, South Boulder Creek, Caribou Creek, Coon Track Creek and Jasper Creek.
