Anna Maria Chávez, chief executive officer of Girl Scouts of the USA, is to deliver the keynote address when Girl Scouts of Colorado hosts the annual Thin Mint Dinner on Oct. 10. The event chaired by Paula Herzmark and Elaine Gantz Berman also is the occasion to honor the 2013 Denver Women of Distinction.

The Women of Distinction, chosen by a committee headed by Dr. Jandel Allen-Davis, are:

Denise Burgess, president and general manager of ; Michelle Lucero, chief legal officer at ; Karen Nakandakare, diversity, inclusion and community investment officer at ; and Kristin Richardson, who serves on numerous boards of directors, including and the .

Also, Christine Riordan, former dean at the who is now provost at the ; Mimi Roberson, president and chief executive officer at and ; Regina Rodriguez, a partner at Faegre Baker Daniels; and Shari Shink, founder and president emeritus of the .

The 2013 Women of Distinction were first introduced at a reception held at the home of 1998 honoree Linda Childears and were recognized again at a garden party held at the Weckbaugh Mansion.

Guests at the latter included such previous honorees as Juanita Chacon (2012); Sister Lydia Peña (1999); Jean Jones (2007); Lynn Gangone (2008) and Mary Sissel (2001).
