Hump day! Here’s a track from Denver rockers to get you over the bump.
The Outfit could be compared to any number of rock bands, spanning the decades since the British Invasion. The band also could be described using any number of terms like “indie,” “garage” or even the now-defunct “alternative.” But who cares? It’s great rock music! Let’s just leave it at that. Sometimes, we kill to dissect.
On August 24, The Outfit will release its latest EP, “Tough Kids,” on he stellar, artist-run Denver label supporting notable bands like , and — with a show at .
Below, download “El Presidente,” a track featuring blistering guitars, casual and moody vocals, and a driving bottom end. In a word: “rock.” In three words: “kick-ass rock.” Then, before heading to the show, think of as many bands to compare it to and draft as many genre descriptors to over complicate “rock music.” Surely, everyone will be impressed.
Please note that downloads offered via Steal This Track are intended to whet your appetite, and are NOT CD-quality recordings. If you want those, please support the artists by buying their music and/or seeing them live.
