Arapahoe Community College is proud to announce that its Event Management Certificate (EMC) program returns for its eighth year this fall.
The program, which begins on Tuesday, Aug. 20, offers an advanced curriculum while providing high-quality training and experiential education to those currently employed in the event management industry, as well as to those who aspire to enterthe field. ACC developed its flexible EMC program in partnership with the Colorado Festivals and Events Association (CFEA) to maximize the skills of both current and future event-planning professionals. The program begins in the fall with a semester-long course covering the basics of event management. A total of five different three-week specialty classes highlight the spring curriculum. Classes are taught by industry professionals and cater to students who wish to further their career in the event management field. Courses in the EMC program include: Introduction to Event Management, Public Relations, Advertising, Marketing and Sales, Volunteer/Staff Management, Entertainment/Community Attractions, Food/Beverage, Hospitality/Conventions, Arenas and Sporting Events. Spring specialty classes may be taken individually, or as part of the comprehensive certificate program in conjunction with the event management fall course. Students pursuing the certificate will be required to take all of the above classes, complete a 45-hour internship and create a portfolio. In addition, for a limited time, new students who choose to purchase the full year of classes will receive one module at a discounted rate.
