Wheat Ridge police on Friday were still seeking a sex offender accused of attacking a woman and her toddler son as they walked on a trail beside Clear Creek.
Marvin Gean Wilson, 44, allegedly jumped out of bushes around 11:30 a.m. Thursday in a greenbelt area near Pierce Street and West 48th Avenue, Wheat Ridge Cmdr. Dave Pickett said.
“We don’ t have any solid leads as to his whereabouts,” Pickett said Friday afternoon.
The woman, who was cut in the legs, has been released from a hospital. Her son, who was stabbed in the abdomen, is still being treated, but his condition has improved, Pickett said.
Wilson is a sex offender who has a warrant for his arrest for failing to register that dates back to 2008.
The stabbing victim had once testified against Wilson, Pickett said.
