When the Emmy-nominated singing competition premieres this season, frontman and “Voice” coach will have a new music-industry adviser to help his team give their best performances.
And what’s wild is Levine’s adviser lives in Denver.
frontman — also a skillful and successful writer and producer on his own — will advise Levine’s team in the “battle rounds” of “The Voice.” The show’s “battle rounds” pit singer against singer, and each coach-adviser team will prepare their singers for the competitions.
Past advisers on the reality show include Sheryl Crow, Billie Joe Armstrong (of Green Day) and writer-producer Pharrell Williams (“Blurred Lines”).
Tedder’s band OneRepublic debuted “Counting Stars,” the first single off their latest record, on the last season of “The Voice.” And many of the songs Tedder has written or produced have been performed on the popular show. Among Tedder’s credits: Adele’s “Rumour Has It” and “Turning Tables,” Leona Lewis “Bleeding Love,” Kelly Clarkson’s “Already Gone,” Beyonce’s “Halo” and others.
“The Voice” will start its fifth season on Sept. 23 on NBC. The “battle rounds” are skedded for mid-October.
