Police took a man into custody after setting up a perimeter in southwest Denver after reports of a man with a gun.
About 1:44 p.m. police received a call about an armed man in the alley of the 1700 block of Tennessee Avenue, said John White, a Denver Police Department spokesman.
A short time later an officer spotted a suspect near the corner of South Dale Court and West Ohio Avenue.
The suspect darted down a nearby alley and police sealed off the area. Police continue to look for the armed man, or a discarded weapon, in the area.
Just before 3 p.m., they had the suspect in custody and the neighborhood was safe.
