Update: According to an AEG Live press release sent on Monday afternoon (Aug. 26), Charli XCX has canceled her Denver show at the Bluebird Theater on Sept. 10. Refunds are available at point of purchase.
has confirmed she will be working on writing new songs for aging pop royalty ’ upcoming full-length album.
“I was freaking out. I didn’t even want to go to the session,” about writing songs for Spears.
Charli XCX has had a record year, releasing her debut album “True Romance” in April. She also co-wrote and was featured in Icona Pop’s “I Love It,” which topped the UK charts and reached No. 7 in the U.S. earlier this summer.
and also joining Paramore on tour, Charli XCX continues to expand her pop-music repertoire.
“Who knows how it will go. We’ve written one song and itap a great track and if she likes it then amazing. It was just an honor to be asked,” she said.
Despite the cancellations and other opportunities, Charli XCX is still scheduled to play Denver’s Bluebird Theater on Sept. 10.
