1 Pedestrian hit, killed. A 22-year-old Aurora man died after being hit by a car Aug. 17. The incident occurred at 4:18 a.m. on the 11200 block of East Sixth Avenue. Police say the man was crossing the street when he was hit. He was rushed to the hospital, where he died two days later. No charges were filed against the driver and police say the pedestrian was likely at fault.

2 Driver killed in accident. One man was killed and another suffered minor injuries in an accident on Aug. 16. The incident occurred at about 8:40 a.m. near Interstate 70 and Airport Boulevard. Police say the driver of a Hyundai was not wearing a seat belt when he crashed into the back of a Toyota that had slowed down for congestion. The driver of the Hyundai was rushed to the hospital, where he died. The driver of the Toyota suffered only minor injuries.

3 Rollover accident kills one. A man was killed Aug. 20 after losing control of his car and crashing into a guardrail. It happened at about 1:45 p.m. near Interstate 225 and Interstate 70. Several witnesses said the car drifted, struck the end of a guardrail and rolled a number of times down an embankment.

4 Man arrested in beating. Police have arrested a suspect involved in the Aug. 14 beating that left a man on life support. Police are still looking for witnesses to the attack, which occurred at about 6:30 p.m. at 16710 E. Quincy Ave. The suspect was seen punching the victim about the head and torso, resulting in serious bodily injury. The victim is on life support and is not expected to survive his injuries.
