
1 Parking hog. A store owner on the 5700 block of Wadsworth Boulevard called police Aug. 21 because a tow truck parked in five of the owner’s spaces and wouldn’t leave immediately. Police told the store owner that parking enforcers could write tickets for that in the future.
2 Craigslist confusion. A woman called Arvada Police on Aug. 18 after several people called her phone asking if she was “available for services.” One caller told the woman her number was on an escort website. Another caller asked about buying a couch. The woman said she never advertised online. There are no suspects.
3 Bleary accusations. A woman went to the Arvada Police Department on Aug. 17 after a driver hit her parked car while she was sitting in it and drove away. The woman revealed that she did not see the car that hit her and that she had been drinking and didn’t want to call the police when it happened. The officer dismissed her charge against a gray truck in the area.
4 Sole thief. Police were called to the 6000 block of Wadsworth Boulevard after five pairs of shoes disappeared from the public laundry room Aug. 14. The woman who was washing the shoes said she saw suspicious people loitering nearby.
5 Fraud precautions. A man who lives on the 13600 block of West 86th Circle filed a potential identity theft report Aug. 12 after he gave his bank account number to a stranger. The victim said a man called claiming to be part of a Medicaid group that offered cheaper prescriptions. The man could not verify the existence of the group.
