Ten of the nation’s largest trucking companies will come together to pre-hire more than 100 new driver trainees at US Truck Driving School in Denver, Colo., on Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. This may prove to be the largest single recruitment event of its kind held in Colorado.

JBS Carriers, Swift Transportation, Werner Enterprises, DS Water, Schneider National, May Trucking, Equipment Savers, Garbage Man and DG Coleman will all be pre-hiring new driver trainees. US Truck Driving School is located at 8150 West 48th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colo., 80033. The event will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and there is no prior experience needed. US Truck is Colorado’s largest truck driver training School, and will be handling all CDL Training for the participating carriers. And many of these trucking companies can cover your CDL training costs!

According to the Department of Labor, the demand for professional truck drivers will continue to grow well into the 21st century. “Two factors are contributing to the increased demand for new drivers. First of all, as the economy picks up – there’s more freight being moved on a daily basis. Then, we’ve got a lot of drivers who are reaching retirement age in the next few years. When you combine these factors, you’ve got demand,” said CVTA (Commercial Vehicle Training Association) Board Member, Brad Barber.

Today’s professional truck drivers are earning more than ever before, and well trained drivers can now earn more than $50,000. “Trucking today is a much better career than just 10 years ago. The equipment is better, the routes are better and the wages up”, said Larry Clark of Houg Logistics & Transportation.
