
1 Storage Wars. A woman called police to her storage unit at the 9500 block of E. 22nd Avenue after her bank card went missing Aug. 29. The victim told police that she suspected a neighboring renter took the card from her unit. Police searched the neighbor and didn’t find it.
2 Robbed by the neighbor . Police were called to the 200 block of N. Troy Street after a woman spotted the man who stole property from her unlocked car Aug. 26. The woman startled the thief, who turned out to be her neighbor, and he dropped a bag of stolen items including the woman’s wallet, iPod and CDs. Police arrested the man.
3 Thief floods campus. Police responded to Aurora Public Schools Option Program at 11351 E. Montview Blvd. because a backflow preventer water main was stolen from the building Aug. 26. The missing part caused water to gush from the supply line. There are no suspects.
4 The need for sound. An employee at the Radio Shack at 10550 E. Garden Drive called police after a man ripped a pair of $130 headphones off a security cable and ran Aug. 24. The employee chased the man, but the man got away.
5 Returned purse. A woman reported that her mother’s purse was stolen from International Beauty Salon at 3133 N. Peoria St. while the two were cleaning the shop Aug. 22. While talking with police, a man came into the salon with the stolen purse. He said he saw a young man looking through it and thought it was suspicious. The woman said $40 cash was missing.
