new 500-employee regional customer-contact center is scheduled to open next Thursday in Greenwood Village with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting attended by Gov. John Hickenlooper.

It was not immediately clear whether flood conditions in the metro area would delay the opening.

The Boston-based mutual-fund and financial-services giant announced in January it had leased 100,000 square feet in the Fiddler’s Green Office Center.

The building is owned and managed by the John Madden Co.

Fidelity representatives at the center will assist customers with retirement planning, saving for college, managing investment portfolios and other needs.

The state committed up to $400,000 for training of the 500 employees for the project. And Fidelity said it also planned to pursue a local-property tax rebate.
