LONG BEACH, Calif.—Police in Southern California have arrested two men for the 1995 robbery-killing of a pizza deliveryman.
A Long Beach police statement says John Lemon was arrested Thursday morning in Las Vegas by an FBI task force and remains jailed. The other suspect, Venda Johnson, is already serving a life sentence for murder in Colorado.
They were charged earlier this month with the November 1995 murder of Renato Teniente. The 60-year-old Long Beach man was found dead in the driver’s seat of his parked, running car. He’d been shot in the chest.
Investigators determined that two men tried to rob him as he was about to leave after delivering a pizza.
The trail went cold but detectives reopened the case last year and re-interviewed witnesses.
