A federal judge has sentenced a 38-year-old Clifton man to almost 20 years in prison for photographing his sexual abuse of a child and then distributing the images over the Internet.
Robert Arthur Brewster was indicted after he provided pictures of his sexually explicit conduct with a 12-year-old girl to an undercover agent who communicated with Brewster over the Internet. The agent posed as a 13-year-old girl living in Kentucky.
“During the chats, the defendant admitted that he took sexually explicit pictures of a minor child under the age of 12 with whom he had access,” according to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
He later provided those pictures, and other child pornography, to the undercover agent.
After the agent told Brewster during an Internet chat that he wanted a webcam, Brewster told him that he had bought one for him. “He then showed the (agent) his bedroom via his own webcam. During this session, the (agent) saw the defendant’s tattoos, which were later used to help identify him as the person who produced child pornography of the minor victim,” according to the release.
The agent later received the webcam sent by Brewster.
On Tuesday, U.S. District Court Judge Robert Jackson sentenced Brewester to 19 ½ years in federal prison for production of child pornography. On completion of his sentence, Brewster must spend the remainder of his life on supervised release and register as a sex offender.
