A Strasburg man is facing murder charges in connection with his son’s death, the district attorney’s office in Adams County said Wednesday.
The man, Timothy Eugene Shively, 68, is accused of shooting his son, Sean Adam Shively, 38, on Saturday. A charge of attempted murder also alleges he tried to kill another man, identified as 24-year-old Cole Lee Garmann.
Court records show Timothy Shively was charged in November with retaliation against a witness or a victim. He pleaded not guilty, and a trial has been scheduled for January.
Court records also show Sean Shively was scheduled to go to trial Wednesday for assault and criminal mischief charges from a November incident.
Timothy Shively is being held without bail. His first appearance is scheduled for Thursday morning.
About 8 p.m. Saturday, dispatchers with Adams County confirmed the department was responding to a shooting near Strasburg Road and East 42nd Court.
