Bargain bbq
We’re always champing at the bit to save a few bucks. You can find bargains and “cheap” bites at Murdoch’s Ranch & Home Supply on Oct. 5. The company is throwing a BBQ party at all of its nine Colorado locations from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A burger and soda are only 25 cents. Yep, just a quarter. Limit two lunches per person, while supplies last. With the money you save, go bargain hunting for cowboy boots, jeans, outerwear or tools during their annual Carhartt sale.
Sundae wednesdays
Even with fall in the air, ice cream still sounds mighty tempting. It’s even sweeter when it’s a good deal. Top your Wednesday with sundae savings through Dec. 18, as Baskin-Robbins customers can buy a one- or two-scoop sundae and get a second one (of equal or lesser value) for free. The possible combos are endless. Of course, every sundae is finished with a dollop of whip cream, nuts and a cherry on top.
Healthy savings
When it comes to good health, there’s no better place to start than the grocery aisle. King Soopers is sponsoring its very own Health & Wellness Expo on Oct. 5 at the Colorado Convention Center. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. sample food and products from more than 200 exhibitors. Any good expo needs celebrities, so Dr. Oz and Dr. Travis Stork (from “The Doctors”) will each make an appearance. Also on the schedule: flu shots, health screenings, cooking demos, educational sessions, kids’ activities and more. Tickets are an affordable $5 for adults and available at any King Soopers or City Market checkout. Teens and children (18 and under) get in free.
Each Monday, Laura & Bryan at compile “Cheap Checklist” to help cheapskates find deals, discounts and freebies. Know of a deal? E-mail info@milehighonthecheap.com 10 to 14 days in advance.
