A week ahead of the release of “New,” stopped by to perform two songs from the upcoming album and a Beatles classic.
He took the time to chat with Fallon, where McCartney says he invented the selfie and the photo bomb — which shouldn’t come as a big surprise given that he’s Sir Paul McCartney.
McCartney performed a playful take on the track “New,” the riff-heavy rocker “Save Us” and ripped through the honky-tonk piano line of “Lady Madonna.”
“New,” McCartney’s first album of new material since 2007’s “Memory Almost Full,” is out on Oct. 15.
