Two masked men damaged their SUV, leaving telltale parts behind as they sped away after attempting to kidnap a woman in a Denver alley.
Denver police say the woman was walking on East Seventh Avenue near Gilpin Street around 9 p.m. on Oct. 1 when she was grabbed. The masked men tried to pull her into an alley, but the woman was able to fight them off.
“They apparently got into a waiting vehicle and when they tried to flee the alley they struck a dumpster, damaging the vehicle before they fled,” police wrote in a Crime Stoppers alert. “The vehicle lost the driver side mirror and parts of the tail light and a reflector.”
Another neighbor told 7NEWS that one of the pieces left behind had “Nissan” printed on the part. Police believe the parts are from a late 1990s gold Nissan Pathfinder, but witnesses thought the vehicle was silver.
