Indie new wave acts of today are coming together to create a tribute album to the new wave band of the ’80s, . Artists such as , , , Barbarian and more are contributing to covers of lesser-known album cuts and B side songs to “Making Patterns Rhyme,” to honor Duran Duran and its legacy of hits and great hair.
The record label Manimal Vinyl, who brought you Bat For Lashes, Warpaint and a tribute to Bowie And Madonna, announced it will digitally release the long-awaited record on Feb. 25. The “cutting-edge indie artists” to “dig deeply into the vaults of Duran Duran’s catalog.” All proceeds of the record will benefit Amnesty International.
Most of the artists chosen for the record have publicly stated their fandom for Duran Duran at some point, making this tribute that much sweeter. And for those who haven’t, they are probably secret admirers like the rest of us. Check out the tentative artist and track list below (more artists and songs will be released in January 2014):
