The mayor’s race in Wheat Ridge also has a write-in candidate, Jeffrey “Park” Worthington.

Worthington submitted paperwork to become a certified write-in candidate after having issues with his nominating petitions to get his name on the ballot.

A newcomer to city politics, Worthington, 47, has lived in Wheat Ridge for 10 years and works as a landscape designer.

He has said his top priorities, if elected mayor, would be developing right-hand turn lanes at major intersections like 44th and Kipling and 44th and Wadsworth, as well as hiring experienced police officers to combat crime in the city.
