Several Colorado Teacher of the Year winners gathered Saturday morning to push support for Amendment 66.

Four recipients of the award joined Lt. Gov. Joe Garcia at Ebert Elementary School in Denver for the event, according to a news release from Colorado Commits to Kids. Overall, seven award winners have endorsed the measure.

Supporters said the two-step income tax rate increase would mean smaller class sizes, more one-on-one attention for students and restoration of programs like art, gym, and music that have been eliminated or scaled back because of budget cuts.
