LAFAYETTE, Colo.—Boulder County health officials say an 81-year-old Lafayette woman has died of meningitis caused by the West Nile virus.

The woman was hospitalized on Sept. 20 complaining of fever, confusion and dizziness and she died a short time later. She was not identified.

According to the Longmont Times-Call (), there have been 300 cases reported in Colorado this year, including 13 in Boulder County.
