Hot tub tampering. On Oct. 31, a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to the 5100 block of Oak Way, where a woman reported someone knocked on her sliding glass door. She noticed someone had burned the cover of her hot tub and put some type of liquid in it, which the deputy said smelled like kerosene.

Garmin lost. On Oct. 30, a deputy responded to the 300 block of Quail Ridge Circle, where a woman had left her garage door unlocked overnight and someone broke into her car and stole her Garmin GPS device.

Missing license plate. On Oct. 30, a deputy responded to the Larry H Nissan dealership, 1320 Plum Valley Lane, where a demo license plate was missing. The receptionist did not report it stolen because they go missing all the time.

Criminal mischief. On Oct. 29, a deputy responded to 24 Hour Fitness, 11798 Oswego St., where someone had broken out windows on two SUVs and taken an iPhone, wallet and a purse out of another vehicle. The thief used the credit card from the man’s wallet and tried to use the card from the woman’s purse but was denied.

Barking dogs. On Oct. 27, Parker police officers responded to the 11000 block of Callaway Road, where there had been complaints about barking dogs. The owner was issued a summons.

False reporting. On Oct. 26, Parker police officers responded to Walmart, 11101 Parker Road, where a young woman said she was assaulted in the parking lot but later admitted to lying about it happening there because she didn’t want to get in trouble. She was given a summons for false reporting.
