The Colorado State Patrol continues to investigate a Monday afternoon collision in which a school bus rolled and injured four children and two adults.

The crash, between a Wray School District bus carrying four students and a truck driven by Megan E. Welp, 24, happened at a Yuma County intersection that has no stoplights or signs.

That “uncontrolled intersection” has not been a problem in the past, said Trooper Nate Reid, spokesman for the State Patrol.

At an uncontrolled intersection, the person to the right has the right-of-way, Reid said.

Welp remained in the hospital Tuesday in stable condition, according to authorities.

Bus driver Jennine Witte, 61, of Vernon, and three of the four children treated at Wray Community District Hospital were released Monday night. The fourth child was released Tuesday.
