, which represents the majority of U.S. breweries, announced Friday that it is moving to a larger headquarters building in Boulder in 2014.
The association has been in its current office in Boulder, at 736 Pearl St., for nearly three decades.
But the organization said the new office, at 1327 Spruce St., is almost double the size, covering 11,600 square feet.
The Brewers Association, a not-for-profit trade organization, said it is relocating because it has been growing steadily like the booming craft-beer industry.
The transaction has an expected close date of April 1 and a purchase price of $4 million.
“With this move, the Brewers Association remains committed to being part of the downtown Boulder business community,” said Bob Pease, chief operating officer of the Brewers Association.
“The BA is proud to be part of the growing community that is craft brewing. This move will allow our staff to better serve our members in the months and years ahead,” said Pease in a statement.
The Brewers Association, a member of the Boulder Chamber of Commerce, has its roots in the 1978 founding of the American Homebrewers Association in Boulder.
