No one to blame. The manager of BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse at 14442 E. Cedar Ave. called police after a customer accidentally shattered the glass door to the patio on Nov. 8. The man said he would pay for the damage. The manager didn’t want to press charges.

Determined window smasher. A man reported to police that the back window of his car was smashed out on Nov. 8. He said his window has been broken while parked in front of his home in the 2100 block of South Rifle Way three times in two weeks.

Car burglars spotted. Two employees of Morning Star Senior Living at 1950 Dayton St. saw two men run away from a client’s car suspiciously. The client went to check on his car and saw that the windows were broken and several papers were missing.

Fleeing on foot. An officer responded to Kohl’s on 1350 S. Ironton St. as a shoplifter was running out of the store, away from security on Nov. 5. The officer followed the suspect in his car, and called for backup. Officers arrested him on the other side of the block.

Driveway prowler. A man went to the police station on Nov. 4 after he discovered that his license plate was stolen while his car was parked in front of his home in the 9900 block of East Carolina Circle.

Failed robbery. A witness saw two men try to break into a woman’s residence on Nov. 2 in the 16400 block of East Alameda Place by throwing a large rock through her sliding glass door. The rock broke through only one of the layers of glass, and the witness said the boys ran away.
