The man accused of shooting his 1-year-old daughter to death in his ex-girlfriend’s Westminster home has died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Merrick McKoy, 22, died Monday, according to a news release from the coroner in Adams and Broomfield counties.
McKoy with the child’s mother at her home at 7030 Stuart St. on Nov. 18, according to Westminster police.
McKoy was taken to St. Anthony Hospital.
In a Facebook post with a time stamp just before the shooting was reported, McKoy wrote: “Don’t judge me had no choice.”
