Haswell, the tiny Colorado farming town that is the namesake for Intel’s latest computer chip, received a major technological upgrade this month. The update arrived in the form of two Haswell-powered all-in-one desktops, courtesy of the giant chipmaker. In June, after Haswell’s revealed that the town’s aging and lone computer was powered by an outdated AMD chip, Intel hinted that it would provide a free upgrade. The company delivered on that promise with a 27-inch Dell XPS and a Lenovo IdeaCentre A730. An Intel spokesman said the town may use the computers ” .” About half of Haswell’s 65 residents are senior citizens. Andy Vuong, The Denver Post
