Thanks to some , the last professional home plate collision we see may be this one from the Australian Baseball League, which led to a bench-clearing brawl.

The down-under melee down was sparked in the middle of a Brisbane Bandits 9-2 win over Sydney on Saturday. Brisbane first baseman Patrick Leonard ran over Sydney Blue Sox catcher Daniel Arribas during a play at the plate in the top of the fourth, knocking the ball out of the catcher’s glove in the process. While Arribas and Leonard jawed, Brisbane outfielder Josh Roberts sprinted from the dugout to punch Arribas. The fight was on.

Roberts, a who used to play rugby, got a for instigating the brawl.
