Getting your player ready...
You could have lived in Denver for decades and have no idea what a dramatic valley is tucked just beyond the hogback on W. Belleview Avenue, west of C470. The neighborhood around Red Rocks Country Club sold rapidly during the 1980s and saw remaining sites vanish in the 1990s; but KB Home has opened a new community tucked beside the rock sentinels – and has two models opening for your viewing today, the first new homes offered there in years.
At Lyons Ridge, named for the white-rock formation east of the models, you can be the first to tour a ‘Crestview’ ranch plan (it has options for a three-car garage and walkout basement on some sites); along with a ‘Pinery’ family-sized value home – more than 3,000 square feet not counting basement, and options for up to five bedrooms. “People are going to be inspired by this setting; there are beautiful views in all directions,” says Matt Mandino, Colorado Division President for KB Home. “Downtown Denver is only 30 minutes from this scenic foothills retreat.” Lyons Ridge has a Morrison address; but it’s only five miles from Red Rocks Amphitheater, two minutes from C470 (a quick commuter route north to Denver West, the Federal Center and new St. Anthony Hospital or south to Lockheed Martin and toward DTC), and just over three miles to the nearest supermarket. Despite the convenience, Lyons Ridge could be a hundred miles from town in terms of scenery and serenity, flanked by the dinosaur ridges and the panoramic golf course. The developer has plans for three miles of trails and a community park within Lyons Ridge; while KB Home rep Marcia Haek says that families wanting this kind of setting overwhelmingly ride bikes. (You can inquire about available social and golf memberships at the Red Rocks County Club.) With all of that promise, KB Home’s signature Built to Order approach lets a buyer customize their new home with a thousand designer choices. KB Home is also starting two homes for summer delivery – one of them a ‘Meridian’ plan with three bedrooms plus a loft, 3-car garage, and a walkout lower level, priced now at $575,255; another a Greenland ranch with 3-car, $547,965. All KB Home Energy Star designs will show attractive four-side architectural detailing and stone trim all the way around; along with slab granite kitchen countertops, a kitchen-entry hardwood floor package, and tile in the baths. To reach the grand opening, take the C470 east exit from U.S. 285 to the first exit, Quincy; turn left (south) towards Belleview 0.3 mi. to the traffic circle and turn right on W Belleview Avenue, (west) 1.3 miles.
