
Firefighters worked Friday morning to rescue a dog stuck in a culvert in Mead.
Moutain View Fire Rescue reported that a border collie named Flash was stuck in an eight-foot culvert that had partially collapsed
The first reports to animal control about 9 a.m. indicated the dog was stuck in the culvert about half a mile south of Colorado 66 on Weld County Road 11.
The that the the owner found the missing dog on a hunch. He had looked for Flash for three hours Thursday night without success, but had luck in the morning when out to get his newspaper, the fire department said in a news release.
Firefighters worked with a circular saw to get the animal out and reported the rescue was successful about 10:36 a.m
Flash was taken to a vet to be checked out.
