COLORADO SPRINGS — A man’s car was stolen in the moments it took him to use an ATM, but it’s what was in the backseat that he is most desperate to have back: His best friend, Boomer.
Boomer is a 7-year-old black Labrador and Sharpei mix who’s lived with his owner, Ronnie Dodge, for six years.
“I don’t care if I get the car back or not, I just want my dog back,” Dodge said.
Dodge, 37, stopped his 2002 forest green Pontiac GrandAm at an ATM in the Red Rock Shopping Center, 3127 W. Colorado Ave., about 9:15 a.m. and waited in line to use the cash machine. He said it wasn’t long before he noticed someone acting strange.
