Tuesday. Can classical music actually be a part of a church’s mission? It depends on the music, and it depends on the church. But it’s easy to make a connection between Trinity Presbyterian Church’s goal of enabling “spiritual formation and fellowship” with its offerings of small, classical ensembles at its Second Tuesdays at Trinity series. The concerts are all about community, and the programming can surely inspire the soul. Next, the Mendelssohn Trio — violinist Erik Peterson, cellist Barbara Thiem, pianist Theodor Lichtmann — performs a program with Beethoven’s “Trio in E flat Major” and Mendelssohn’s “Trio in C Minor,” two particularly thoughtful pieces.
