Shazam will be updating its iPhone app, with an emphasis on TV results, music videos and lyrics. The update, armed with a brand-new look, will give quick access to lyrics with a preview, direct access to the music video, and recommendations unique to Shazam. Users will also be able to preview the track on music services such as Rdio and Spotify.
The app will also use cards (think Google Now), replacing the more compressed mobile Web look that was previously used.

Chrome now tells you when it’s been hijacked
Google Chrome is helping its users fend off browser hijackings.
Linus Upson, Google’s vice president of engineering, announced a new protection in a blog post last week that asks users to reset their account if Chrome’s system detected a potential hacker.
The tech giant revealed that Chrome users’ No. 1 complaint is hackers attempting to change their settings by tricking them to download malware — that is, software from untrusted sources with nefarious purposes.
Malware makes it impossible to revert back to the browser’s original settings, Upson said in the post.

A new generation of road-trip diversion
With Dragons Adventure, a game based on the world of Dreamworks’ “How to Train Your Dragon,” Microsoft has hit on a fascinating gaming concept. The app, made in conjunction with Dreamworks, is made for kids on road trips. It uses Nokia’s maps to translate your real-world route into the fiery and exciting world of the film, and displays real landmarks such as rivers or notable buildings as cartoon destinations in the app. Weather in the game mirrors weather in real life.
That’s all great, but the game does have a main — a major — limitation. It comes preinstalled on the Lumia 2520, Nokia’s first tablet, and that’s the only device on which it will work. A companion version of the app is available for Nokia Lumia smartphones for parents to control parts of the game, but kids really need that specific tablet. Still, Dragons Adventure is an interesting app, because it allows for interactivity on a scale that most apps don’t. With the companion version of the app, parents can send dragons to battle into their kids’ paths and hide secret treasures for them to find. Free, for Windows Lumia devices, specifically the Lumia 2520 tablet.
