• A story about controversy over the 50-year U.S. 36 management contract that appeared Wednesday on Page 4A of The Denver Post contained two errors. The first, an editing error, incorrectly described Barbara Brown’s work. She is a legal strategist for the Hammer-Law firm, which is representing SunShine Institute in a threatened lawsuit to prevent federal funding for the U.S. 36 overhaul. The second, a reporting error, incorrectly attributed a paraphrased quote. It is the opinion of lawyer Karen Hammer that the state has no legal justification to withhold certain documents related to the U.S. 36 contract from the public.
