Colorado’s governor, who makes $90,000 a year, earns less than the governor in every neighboring state, and Colorado’s attorney general is the lowest-paid in the nation, making $80,000 annually.

The current attorney general, Republican John Suthers, has raising the salaries of the governor, AG and other executive offers (lieutenant governor, secretary of state, and treasurer). The idea has bipartisan support, though no legislation is currently pending at the statehouse, and such a bill could be politically dangerous in an election year.

What do you think? Should the governor and other state executive officers be given a raise? Vote in our poll at right.
