2009: Original EAGLE-Net broadband grant application is rejected.
2010: 7,000 Rotary members from 140 Clubs in Colorado join renewed EAGLE-Net effort.
September 2010: EAGLE-Net wins $100.6 million grant to build network for 220 educational institutions.
June 2012: National Telecommunications and Information Administration review of EAGLE-Net’s records uncovers $500,000 in questionable spending.
December 2012: NTIA suspends EAGLE-Net funding for compliance errors and amid complaints of overbuilding.
April 2013: NTIA lifts suspension and scales back project to focus primarily on 168 school districts.
February 2014: EAGLE-Net network is available to 98 school districts and serves 63 that have 340,000 students.
Rest of 2014: EAGLE-Net aims to build fiber network into Silverton by fall and reach 108 school districts with 630,000 students by year-end.
