The Broncos have reached an agreement with backup receiver Andre Caldwell on a two-year contract, according to a team source.
Caldwell would have become a free agent at 2 p.m. Tuesday, but the team didn’t allow him to reach the market.
Caldwell, who turns 29 next month, was the Broncos’ No. 4 receiver last season; he was the No. 5 receiver in 2012. He will have a chance to compete for Eric Decker’s receiver spot if Decker signs elsewhere in free agency.
Caldwell made 16 catches last season for 200 yards and three touchdowns.
