Q. I have a 14-month-old HP Envy dv7 with Windows 8. The Internet connection has started to drop out of the blue. I’ve paid a PC repair company to come out and uninstall a driver and reinstall a different one but each time the computer “updates,” it goes back to the original driver. What else can I do?

A: If the PC repair company’s driver worked and the service is still under warranty, then you should ask the company to reinstall it.
