The first members of an advisory panel to help Adams County run Front Range Airport were approved Monday.
Adams County commissioners voted to the Airport Advisory Board. The board eventually will have 10 members.
Among the seven members will be Aurora Mayor Steve Hogan, County Manager Todd Leopold, and Barry Gore, president and CEO of Adams County Economic Development.
Four others will represent the space and aviation sectors, and the perspective of a current tenant and a county citizen.
The county is still taking applications for members who can represent the marketing and unmanned aerial vehicles sectors as well as someone to represent non-aviation business.
the Front Range Airport Authority Board, turning the airport into a county airport directly managed like other county departments.
Instead of the managing board, the commissioners created the advisory panel to assist with airport recommendations.
The change by allowing consolidation of some services the county can provide, and by attracting more expertise to learn how the airport can be more successful.
The panel does not yet have a date set for its first meeting.
