Bikes and dinos
Bicycles and Dinosaurs Day is April 12 at Dinosaur Ridge, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring your bike to ride along the ridge and participate in activities like gold panning, metal detecting, fossil sifting, track painting and more.
Musical competition
Cañon City’s Music and Blossom Festival is May 1-4. The weekend features national high school, middle school and junior high bands competing in various musical genres, as well as a parade, carnival, the Blossom Craft Fair and much more.
Birding fest
The Mesa Verde Country Birding Festival is May 7-11 in Cortez. With birding field trips to areas like Mesa Vere National Park, Ute Tribal Park, plus tours, guest lectures, a bird themed art show and more.
Crazy for art and tunes
Downtown Grand Junction’s Art and Music Festival is May 9-11. The weekend includes art demonstrations, hundreds of artisan booths, live music and more.
